Awesome Artist: The Hello Strangers

The first Awesome Artist ever, comes from a little town in PA, Mercersberg to be exact. Their name is The Hello Strangers, and they are made up of fresh talent that is extremely hard to find.
Band members are:

Larissa Chace Smith - Vocals, rhythm guitar
Brechyn Chace - Vocals, harmonica, accordion, tambourine
Kevin Shannon - Lead guitar
Katie O'Neil - Drums
Dave Holzwarth - Bass

Their songwriting can only be described as what Johnny Cash would've played had he been Larissa and Brechyn, the bands lead singers. Now, I for one am not a huge fan of country/honkytonk music. It's repetitive and I've had a hard time ever liking the genre. But I would be lying if I didn't say that I loved these guys after listening to "Pregnant in Jail", which by the way is based off a true story. They are folk/rock at its absolute best. After being hooked by one song I immediately played catch-up and listened to as many songs as I could find. The Hello Strangers released an album in early 2010 entitled Introducing Max Schmidt and it's up on iTunes for about $6.00 and it is well worth the buy. I have been listening to it for about 2 weeks now and I have yet to tire of it.

So, if you're looking for something new to listen to, and you want a guaranteed good listen go here http://www.myspace.com/thehellostrangers an www.thehellostrangers.com and get hooked.

Highlights:
"Poor Dear"
"Pregnant in Jail"
"Chances"
